Level 2 Cert

This past weekend, I have had the privilege to meet some amazing CrossFit coaches from around the country at the Level 2 Cert. They hailed from Washington (CrossFit X, CrossFit Advantage), Arizona (CrossFit Luke), Utah (Ute CrossFit), Florida (CrossFit Broward), and California (CrossFit South Bay, CrossFit Coronado, US CrossFit, CrossFit Invictus, CrossFit Endurance, FIT). Each coach had a different style and background, but their common ground was their passion for helping people become their fittest selves.
The Cert was an eye opener to say the least. Most of us had been coaching for well over a year and haven’t had the opportunity for someone to critique and debrief us on how to better our movements as well as our coaching. It was nerve-wracking, humbling , and inspiring at the same time. On Saturday, Speal, Boz, Pat, and Drew watched us like hawks. They evaluated us as we taught each other the 9 basic movements and provided invaluable feedback.
Sunday was D-day and about 15 test subjects showed up to participate. Almost every single test subject was already a CrossFitter, and most were looking to take their Level 2′s in the near future. The nervous energy was palpable that morning, but it definitely helped to see that everyone present genuinely wanted to do their part in helping us pass the cert.
It was definitely tough for me not to stumble on words, forget cues, and miss some faults, especially with “the man holding the clipboard” watching, but I managed to get through the day and come out with a better knowledge of the movements and how I could better myself as a coach. It’s a never-ending evolution and I’m grateful to have met such outstanding coaches this weekend that I’m sure will help me along the way.
Welcome to Intrepid, Greg! Way to crush yesterday’s WOD with Helen!

Congrats on your Level 2 Ruth!
I’ll be all over some sort of study group once I’m ready to take it.
