Big Wok Mongolian BBQ is the answer to a famished Paleo eater’s dilemma of never getting enough veggies in your meal. Often times, we end up having to sub veggies for rice, bread, pasta, etc., but sometimes have to pay exorbitant amounts for a tiny cup of spinach. Here at Big Wok, you can pile your veggies and MEAT sky high into that bowl and walk it over to your friendly chef to cook it up.

Just be wary of the sauces that you put on. Some of them have quite a dose of sugar, so try to stay away from the ones that say BBQ on them. Most of these are also soy sauce-based so you’ll be getting some small amounts of gluten and lectins from the soy. Likewise, the oils aren’t premium quality but they’re necessary to cook the meats and also help to get some fat content in. In the grand scheme of things, these are likely irrelevant but it helps to be cognizant of what you may be ingesting.

You’ll notice the experienced patrons will grab two bowls — often one for meat and the other to pile high with veggies. Conveniently, you can use the 2nd bowl to pack down the shaved slices of pork/lamb/beef/etc. and really help to fill your plate. Load up on the veggies (maybe even pineapple) and skip the tofu or bean sprouts. Obviously you’ll be skipping the rice and biscuits when you get back to the table, but feel free to make a 2nd run if you’re still hungry!
