Ready, Set, Goal!

You wouldn’t set out on a trip without a map to somewhere you’ve never been, would you? Surprisingly, a vast majority of CrossFitters do that exact thing with their training. Setting a goal helps you focus and guide your daily efforts here at CrossFit Intrepid. There typically is a reason why you came to CrossFit and perhaps you have more of a long-term goal than something quickly achieved. If so, make sure you map out bite-sized chunks to keep you going in the right direction. As an example, let’s say your goal is a 2x bodyweight deadlift. Obviously unless you’re nearly there, we wouldn’t suggest you slap on the full weight and go for it. Maybe you will need to first shoot for a 1.5x bodyweight deadlift and prior to that, you’ll make a goal of ensuring you make it to the WOD every time you see deadlifts. These mini-goals will help give you measurable progress towards your main goal, whether it be a faster Fran time, a heavier deadlift or losing bodyfat. By all means, please share your goals with the coaching staff so we can help you get where you want to go! For some helpful guidelines on goal setting, see this link. Post your goals to comments.
WOD – 11.30.09
Back Squat 3×5
Hang Power Clean 3×3
AMRAP 10 minutes
- 4 Hang Power Clean (@60% of today’s effort)
- 8 Kettlebell Swings
- 10 Wallball Shots
