Brian ringing in the New Year
This week, we began the PR benchmarks of 2010. It has been the culmination of a month of a linear strength progression, which you all excelled in, adding weight every week and resisting the urge to test out that 1RM!
On Monday, we began with the back squat. While there was some confusion over whether or not some of y’all PR’d (due to lack of record keeping), there is no doubt that everyone benefited from the linear strength program that we’ve been following. Tuesday was Press day. Scott and Nick both crushed their previous weights by 15 and 10#, respectively, Anna pressed a 40# barbell up with one arm, and those who were newer to the press, found their benchmark for the first time.
Next week we’ll continue with the bench press, power clean, and the deadift and grab 2010 by the horns with some sick PRs! Well done everyone. Thanks for making 2009 such an incredible first year for CFI.
