No missile crisis involved here, I’m talking about the war where the common casualties are kleenex and oranges. We’re in the midst of cold and flu season and I’m hearing a lot of hacking coughs both in the workplace and out in public. So say you’re keeping yourself as healthy as possible by regular visits to Intrepid and taking the caveman supplements that Ruth suggested, but you fall victim to a vicious bug of some sort. What’s a CrossFitter to do then?

Over at Paleoblocks.com, they gave some advice for the “Sick Caveman”.

It is important to remember the following:

  • Take lots of fish oil
  • Take lots of Vitamin D
  • Try to exercise – exercise greatly improves your immune system.
  • Vitamin C
  • Zinc
  • Rest!
  • Fluids (e.g., water, non-caffeinated tea)

They also give some recipes for common foods you crave when sick, but with a Paleo twist. Mark’s Daily Apple also has a list of ways to make it through cold season (and what to do if you do get sick).

oh my god, how did you get my baby picture?!

You don’t know how hard I had to resist captioning the picture with something to that effect. :)

Thanks for the reminder Marcus. Sad as it may be but I have a “to-do” item in Outlook to remind myself to take vitamins and drink water throughout the day. It’s working though :)

Looks like Ruth beat me to the punch line on baby pic jokes :P

Ruth was an adorable little girl!! :)

Made up the Frontsquat day..
Front Squat 3×5 205#

Did my first Double Under…EVER!! Ruth says that’s 100% improvement over 0. I tried to explain it’s an infinity improvement…but then decided I’ll just call it an improvement of 1! Watch out CFI, I’m taking the Cup home this month!!
