Scientists say that the first three decades of your life are critical for building bone mass and one of the best exercises for that is box jumping. For some of us…ahem…we may be a little outside that window, but that doesn’t mean we should stop.

For those of you who were in the gym last night, you may have seen our new 30″ and 36″ boxes (woohoo!) which inevitably means a max height box jump day. Box jumping is not only fun (yes, Becky) but it’s also great for building power, speed, and agility. The explosivity you generate from high box jumps translate to that second pull of your cleans and snatches, enabling you to get that barbell higher so you can pull yourself under.

So, today, we’ll be breaking in these boxes by progressing up to find that baseline for your max height box jumps. For most of us, the challenge will be mostly mental, but don’t worry, we have a progression for everything!!
