As a follow up to Sean’s Sunday post on our “Invitational” results, I’m posting a couple of videos that Michael was kind enough to take of our Clean& Jerks.   To explain our format a little better, we began by selecting 3 weights for both lifts (snatch and clean & jerk) before we warmed up.  Our first weights were supposed to be a “gimmie,”  just beyond our last warm ups.  Our second attempts were supposed to be close to (if not) our max lifts.  The third weight was to be either a max or an attempt at a PR.

After our warm ups and after each lift, we gave ourselves the opportunity to make any changes to our proposed weights.   Below are the videos of both of our last attempts.  Our original goals for the C&J were 250-265-270 for Sean, and 153-163-168 for me, but we both failed at the bottom of the second lift and opted to redo the weights.

Sean put up 265# and I got 163#, both, a little shy of our PRs, but we were happy nonetheless!

Update– the “good” 163 attempt below:

Thanks again to Michael, Stephanie, Nick, and Dustin for sticking around, providing support, and judging for us!
