Scott tearing up the pull ups
Since we’re closed on Memorial Day, this will be the official May Challenge finale where we will determine a top female and male Cup winner in the Triple Threat contest. It was a close race early on with two and three way ties in both groups! After a month of work on pull ups, running, and posterior chain movements, we’ll see whose on top in the end.
Since our main goal as CrossFitters is general physical preparedness, this workout is a benchmark in itself! While this challenge is by no means a definitive test of overall fitness, it does incorporate and require strength, strength to weight ratio, and metabolic conditioning (‘cardio’).
WOD 05.28.10
Triple Threat
Max Deadlift
Max Strict Pull Ups
400m Sprint
Rules:
1. You get 3 attempts at a 1 rep max deadlift
2. You get 1 attempt at max rep pull ups. Bands allowed for pull up scaling. However, in the even of a tie, it will go to the lightest band used.
3. Winner is determined by placement (example, if you finish 2nd in the DL, 3rd in PU, 1st in Sprint, 2+3+1=6. Lowest score wins).
4. Ties in deadlift and pull up will be determined by bodyweight (lower for deadlift, higher for pullup).
