Big Girls Don’t Cry WODs Announced

After much consideration, we finally decided on the WODs for Saturday’s Big Girls Don’t Cry event:

Scaling will be used based on your 1RM/work sets in previous workouts. We’ll go over standards prior to each WOD. There will most likely be at least two heats so that we can have “judges” count reps, so the start time for each wod will be 2 hours apart. You’re welcome to hang out at the gym between wods, but bring water and snacks! Post wod drinks location TBD (suggestions?).
A very happy birthday to Andrea, who ran the Rock ‘n Roll Marathon this last Sunday! We miss you and come back soon!!!

Andrea’s dedication to running half and full marathons these last couple of years has been motivated by her innate altruism. She rang her birthday this year by running the San Diego Rock n’ Roll Marathon. She also chose to use the opportunity to help her friend Beth raise money for Marlon, a 6 year old German Shepard who is suffering from a condition that causes his stomach to partially twist with exercise. If
Marlon’s stomach twists completely he will die. Over the past year they had some pretty close calls leading her vet to recommend a surgery which will help save Marlon’s life. Unfortunately, the surgery is extremely expensive and Beth is currently in nursing school.

11:30-6:15….steadily approaching the 7 hour mark! I’ve got to find a way to get to sleep by 11. Maybe I’ll start tonight because I’ll be so wiped out from cheering for the Celtics to slaughter the Lakers!!
BTW, since when was Jeremy a GIRL?? Wish I could be there to join the fun this weekend. I’ll be in Vegas!
