On Saturday May 4th, we’ll be hosting a Trigger Point Myofascial Compression Techniques (MCT) workshop here at our gym. The workshop will run from 9am-5pm so plan on being here most of the day. Read the course description here. Although the description makes it sound like the workshop is geared towards coaches and trainers, I encourage anyone interested in self-maintenance to sign-up and attend the MCT workshop. It will provide in-depth knowledge and a systematic way to approach rolling and maintaining your body. THe material, and the kit you leave with, will empower you to take an active and informed role in improving your soft tissue restrictions. I feel this information is a must for anyone leading an active lifestyle. Sign up here and reserve your spot as the class is expected to reach capacity. Deadline  to sign up is April 26th so don’t delay! Here’s a preview of some of Trigger Point material:

Rough itinerary on the day of:
9-12 or 1 – Workshop covering first three to four of the “Ultimate 6” areas
Lunch Break – Bring your food and stash it in our fridge. We also have a microwave should you need to re-heat anything. Otherwise, there are plenty of dining options within a few minutes drive for all types of diets. Also, folks are welcome to workout or lift on their own as long as you fill out a waiver and respect our equipment and facility.
1-5pm – Workshop covering the remaining areas and any supplemental material, along with Q&A.

If you can’t make it to the workshop or just want to browse their selection of products, take a look at the Trigger Point online store here. Their GRID roller has become my favorite roller, and their quadballer and footballer are impressive tools as well. We have all of the aforementioned products here at the gym for you to sample, and if you attend the MCT workshop you receive a performance kit to take home (a $150 value!). Check out some of their videos on how to use their products here on their YouTube channel.  Post any questions to comments, and I hope to see you for our MCT workshop on May 4th!

Congrats Tom D. on a strong showing this past weekend in the Baker to Vegas Run!

Great job, Tom! Snakes and scorpions, oh my!

@ Alia, thanks for offering the cookbooks.

@ everyone, I invested in “Well Fed,” the cookbook associated with “It Starts with Food.” The recipes are delicious, and she offers recommended meal prep tips for the week. I’ll warn you in advance, often the recipes take a fair amount of prep time, cook time, etc. They are more than worth the wait and are a wonderful way to smell up your home over a weekend.
