Matt and Stacy of Paleo Parents found their way to this new way of life after Stacy delivered their third child via Caesarean section and struggled with her recovery. At 336 pounds and missing a gall bladder, she decided she needed to make a change. What resulted was an amazing transformation (together with her husband, Matt, they lost over 200 total pounds since they started over a year ago). More importantly, though, their newfound lifestyle cured their 5 year old’s behavioral issues and their 3 year old’s eczema and allergy sensitivities. Read their incredible story here.

For obvious reasons, I’ve been doing more research about how to raise kids Paleo when society makes it so hard to do so. From the simplicity of Cheerios to the enticement of cartoony cereal boxes, junk food sections that take up more real estate in a market than organic food to terrible school cafeterias, not to mention the convenience of pre-packaged foods when their aren’t enough hours in the day to bathe the children and yourselves.

However, Matt and Stacy have done such a great job consolidating their information in their 101 article and FAQ that I can honestly say I have a good place to start.

Here’s just a short list of the wonderful info on their site in addition to their blog:

Now, I understand choosing this lifestyle is a personal process.  Just like you had to buy into the idea of fitness as we define it (where are the treadmills and machines?), you have to make your own journey to embrace a paleolithic template for nutrition.  However, for those of you who have already tried the Whole 30 and saw significant results, you may be wondering how to implement this for the little ones.  Paleo Parents, Everyday Paleo, and CrossFit Kids are just some of the many resources to look to for ideas!
