Registration opens today for the 2012 Intrepid Games. The main prerequisite to register is to be a member here at Intrepid.   As we said in previous post, there will be three divisions: Novice (Beginner), Scaled (Intermediate), and Open (Advanced). These categories are relative to the athletes in our gym, so to help you decide which division to sign up for, here are some movement requirements for each division:

  • Full range of motion on squats
  • Full range of motion Knee Push Ups

  • 500m Row: 1:50/1:35 or less
  • 25 consecutive double unders

Although we routinely scale workouts and tailor them around injuries, we will not be doing so for the competition so we can keep it as uniform and fair as possible.  Also, consider these movement requirements as measure of benchmark only. We’ll be announcing movements specific to the competition after registration closes.

Many of you will find yourselves on the cusp between two divisions.  If that’s the case, sign up for whichever one you qualify for now, but train as if you were in the next category.  We may have the flexibility to bump you up a category as we get closer to the competition.  However, we will not bump you down, so don’t bite off more than you can chew!

WOD 07.02.12

4 Rounds:
20 Kettlebell Swings
30 Double Unders
10 Burpees
