Back in October, we started requesting registration for classes and after our observations we will be making a few changes. First, I have learned that James REALLY loves burpees, or at least he likes accruing them. (Must be some sort of dodgeball cross-training method…) We also learned that some of you want to avoid the burpee penalty and due to your unpredictable schedule, just don’t reserve a class. Unfortunately, this has had the unintended consequence of not having a trainer on site when no one else signed up for that timeslot.

So here’s the deal for 2011 — we’ll be removing the burpee penalty. This is because we really want all of you to be signing up for classes, so we can properly predict class attendance and allocate resources. So please make sure to reserve your classes ahead of time, even if you aren’t 100% sure that you can make it.

We trainers are human (or at least I am) and understand that sometimes life happens and you can’t break free for class. Here’s what we ask in exchange: our numbers are on the website, so if you cannot make the class you signed up for, just call or text your trainer to let us know. As long as someone is signed up on the site, there will be a trainer there for the class. We just ask you to be as respectful of our time as we are of yours, so if you cannot make it, give us a heads up at least 30 minutes before class. This can be anything from “I can’t make 5pm, but I’ll be in for 6″ to “not gonna make it today”.

With that said, there will be a penalty only in the case that people sign up, don’t show and fail to notify the respective trainer. Again, we want to make sure we’re on site when you want to attend class and we simply ask your courtesy in return. Thanks and here’s to a great 2011 — now go sign up for class!

@ Wendi – Today’s WOD was hell wasn’t it!? One of my new year’s resolutions was not peeking at what the WOD is before coming to the gym. If I had today I think I would have stayed home!

Today’s workout was BRUTAL!! And I loved it!! :) Pushups suck. By the 3rd Cindy I was struggling and trying to find the right way to divide up the 10 psu reps.

Speaking of which….my January resolution….2x Pushup Challenge unbroken for the month (meaning 2 pushups on Jan 1, 2 on Jan 2, 6 on Jan 3, etc.). By the 31st I hope to have 62 pushups unbroken. Sounds impossible, but 2 pushups are easy, right?? So 2 more than yesterday should be do-able, right?? :)

Great idea Scott!

Whoever came up with this WOD is a genius!

I thoroughly enjoyed today’s WOD. throwing in that heavy weight is what I needed!

Keep them coming!
