Another year has gone by and Nick is now a quarter century old. Highlights of turning 25? Insurance rates go down and he can finally rent a car! Brian and Anna will appreciate the last one and maybe they’ll let us go on vacation with them again since we can finally drive the rental car. While I joke about little things to look forward to this year, lets look back at Nick’s last year.

In the past year, Nick has spent so much time with Marcus that he can imitate his deep voice so well that if he said “Alright, 7 o’clock, take a lap” we might all actually run out the door. He’s also getting close to a perfect impression of his bratty little sister Anna as well, “you don’t know, babe.” Nick has also caused a little romance drama in the gym this past year. He’s gotten close enough to Brian to stir up the Brian-Jake bromance, forcing Brian to perform quite the balancing act between the two. Although maybe Brian’s starting to struggle with his balancing act since I haven’t seen Jake in varsity class for quite some time…

Okay, just poking fun. In all seriousness, Nick has worked very hard this year (as usual) and has had a lot of success. This year, Nick has gone from managing the production of one product for SpaceX’s space capsule, to managing the entire manufacturing engineering team for the space capsule. Nick did such a good job improving the production of the space capsule, that they also put him in charge of the production of the engines that will power SpaceX’s next generation rocket. All of this before the age of 25.

In the few hours of the week Nick has left, he manages to make it to the gym 5-6 days a week to kick my butt at CrossFit (most of the time). Lifts were always Nick’s strength as they were something he was comfortable with, but he jumped outside his comfort zone and managed to master most of the tougher body weight movements this year. He tied Dan for first place in the handstand walking contest, and mastered handstand push ups and muscle ups (both of which he busted out at the team competition). Nick brings a drive and focus to the gym with a fun energy that is contagious. 7p class certainly isn’t boring for a reason.

You’ve had a great year babe and I’m lucky to have been a part of it. You are my everyday inspiration to work harder to accomplish my goals. I look forward to what year 25 brings for you! Love you!

Reasons I think Nick is turning 52 instead of 25:
He talks about bathroom usage more than any other topic.
He stretches more than Marcus.
He knows the exact coffee to water ratio necessary for a normal flow.
He obtained management level at an aerospace company.
You don’t know Nick!!! Happy birthday, however old you are :)

I thought of a few more…
You can’t sleep past 7am.
On the weekend, you have two meals before 9am
You eat at the same restaurants every week.

Yep, totally 52. I’m convinced.

Happy Birthday Nick. You really have made the bro-mance balancing act difficult. Your encouraging words, constant motivation and work ethic has made you an awesome lifting buddy and even better friend. Youre an effing stud, just stop overthinking things!! But that’s also the reason for your personal success out of the gym, you are well ahead of the game. Cant wait to quit work buy a marlin boat, move to Hawaii catch big fish and bench press all day.
