Many of you have heard us trainers preach about mobility and how sitting a chair all day is wrecking your efforts in the gym. Since the vast majority of people are desk bound for 8 or more hours a day, we see some common issues coming in through the door. For example with yesterday’s power cleans, it was obvious to see some people who would benefit from opening up their hips via regular mobilizing. If you just groaned, because you’ve been subjected to the wall stretch in my class, you probably should be doing it more often!
Take a look at the below video from K-Star, especially his demo of power clean form. Have you seen that in others in the class, or do you recognize it in yourself? Try the test he shows at the beginning of the video and see how you do. Show up for today’s skills day, ask the trainer to show you the wall stretch (if you don’t already know) and test again afterwards!
