Today’s birthday post comes from Anna:

Today we celebrate the birthday of the prodigal daughter. Our long lost varsity class sister who we all feared used us for a rocking wedding body and would never return. But alas, her name is back on the board, and we celebrate her arrival by taking it easy on her for a few classes. Laura joined Intrepid back in August based on a recommendation from a friend. She came in with a goal of getting one pull up before her wedding day (music to Marcus’s ears). I would like to believe she accomplished that and so much more.

Laura instantly fit in with the bratty little sister club, challenging Marcus on every assignment. What she didn’t realize is that Marcus does have a few allies in the class. You see, we don’t ONLY whine and complain, we also push each other to new levels. Every day we tried to make her move faster and lift heavier, and not once did she let us down. In addition to great strength potential, and whiny moments, Laura is a blast outside of the box. She even shocked the whole Varsity class by going through with her Bachlorette party dare.

Laura’s training at Intrepid did the trick, she was a beautiful bride! But we all hope she’s in it for the long haul.

Favorite Movement/Exercise: The bear crawl. She even shows up late for 7p just to get more practice!
Least Favorite Movement: Losing an argument with Marcus
Favorite WOD: 400m bear crawl
Least Favorite WOD: Any WOD where her bratty sisters make her put more weight on the bar
CF Goals: To be the fastest bear crawler in the gym and never have her notebook end up in the archives again
Best CF Accomplishment: The ability to get Marcus to cave when it comes to selecting weights for the day’s lift
What motivated me to do CF: To get a sexy, toned body for her wedding…what motivated her to come back to CF? Her nagging CF sisters!

Just poking fun, Laura! For all of our sake at the 7p class, we definitely hope you don’t have that much bear crawling in your future. We’re so glad to have you back at Intrepid and we look forward to watching you surprise yourself as you surpass your gains since the last time you were a regular at the gym. Thank you for this hilarious post and birthday wishes! It made me regret sleeping in and missing today’s workout just a little bit. I love coming to the gym to see you guys and beyond that being friends with some really incredible people-even if I’m pushed to add extra weights and punished w bear crawls and burpees when I deserve it! I hope to come in more consistently- thank you girls for giving me the post wedding slack but also staying on me to get me off my ass and back into the gym! (no thanks to Marcus ;) And even Kara, who inspires me from all the way in Chicago. Thank you!
