Enjoying a WOD at CrossFit Thrive

Hip drive

Michael Young’s article, “Developing Hip Power for High Performance Athletes,” talks about the role of hip drive in initiating power. When you hear the term “triple extension,” often times it’s followed by “hips, knees, and ankles,” which denotes the order in which they extend. The hips initiate the drive, with the knees and ankles following. The posterior chain we talked about in the Deadlift post powers this drive. Feel the hip drive you use in the AMRAP below and utilize it for the cash out.
