This past weekend, Sean and I had the privilege of attending the CrossFit Kids Cert in Ramona, CA. Here, we witnessed amazingly humbling feats by 3-17 yr olds from flippin’ burpees to 50-something inch box jumps. We saw 3 year olds squatting and pressing, 8 year olds deadlifting, and 12 year olds cleaning and jerking. It was not only inspiring, but it was a vision of what the future could hold if we got our young ‘uns CFing early. Not only could wecreate an environment where these kids can become tomorrow’s firebreathers, but (more importantly), we could reduce their injuries well into their golden years.

These children learn at a young age how to set goals, attack them, and set new ones. They take the lesson they learn from finishing every WOD and apply it to real life, realizing that no task is too great to accomplish and no problem too difficult to solve. Very soon, CrossFit Intrepid will be offering these classes to the kids in our own community. Bring your kids by on a Saturday and have them see what we do in a workout! Tell your friends who have kids about CrossFit and what it can do for their families!

Check out the above video of CrossFit Agoge’s kids program and see what CrossFit can do for our little ones.

That’s awesome to see kids so interested at an early age. Have to also commend the parent for getting them involved. Definitely will reap the benefits in the long haul.
