Tomorrow, Troy will be competing in the the 63rd annual Catalina Ski Race.  Every year, water skiers from around the globe come to California to compete in the 62 statute-mile race from Long Beach to Catalina and back. Troy and Tyler have been water skiing since middle school and have been racing on and off ever since.

It’ll be a grueling race that can take well over an hour to complete. Traveling at up to 70mph, the skiers are towed approximately 200 feet behind the boat to help with reaction time. We’ll all be doing a dance to appease the calm ocean gods for Troy tonight! Good luck tomorrow, Troy! We’ll be thinking of you and rooting you on from land!

Here’s a video of a race a few years ago in case you’re wondering how fast they really go!

Just a reminder, the Chili Cookoff kicks off tomorrow at noon at Brianna’s pad. Address will be posted on the board in the gym. If you can’t make it, but want to enter, feel free to bring your crockpot to the gym today and we’ll bring it for you. Cash prize of $100 for the winner.

We’ll be purchasing new jump ropes for the gym soon from Again Faster (Revolution Rope). Holley, our residential double under expert, has tested these out and loves ‘em. We’ll be buying a few for the gym and cutting them to stock sizes (yellow/green/blue lengths), but if you want your own rope to cut/customize, post to comments. We’ll be placing the order this weekend. They cost $24.95 plus a couple of dollars for shipping.

Troy. If you have time there’s a really good ice cream place in Avalon. Try and stop by during your fun little trips.

@Steph i believe “Hoes” is actually spelled Hos. FYI
