Tyler (left) and Brian (right) are just 2 of many Intrepids competing this weekend

This is an eventful weekend for many Intrepid athletes with three different events taking place. First off, let’s wish Tyler and his good friend Kevin (who’s dropped in for a couple of workouts here at Intrepid) the best of luck as they tackle the 2012 Frogman Challenge.  The Frogman Challenge is a 2-day affair because of its popularity, but Tyler is competing today.  The event is being held at the Santa Ana Family YMCA on 2100 West Alton Ave. Santa Ana, California 92704.  Further event details can be found at their website here.  Tyler’s healthy background in swimming and his kick-ass conditioning should really help him out here in his first CrossFit competition.  Here are the workouts Tyler and Kevin have today, and just by looking them over I’m feeling hypoxic.  Good luck today guys!
Event 1 – “Easy Day”
1,000m run
1,000m row
500m swim
Event 2 – “Dreager”

Second, let’s wish Brian, Jake, and Holley luck as they take on the second part of the NLI Iron Will CrossFit series.  The event is sure to be another fun one down in the same location as the previous event, at Laguna Hills High School, .  Event details can be found on their website here.  B, Jake, and Holley also have an action packed day in store for them with three tough WODs. Let’s wish them the best of luck as they attack these workouts today.

Finally, Corrine and Patrice are running the Down and Dirty 5K Mud Run on Sunday.  Talk about fun!  The event is being held at Castaic Lake State Recreation Area with the 10K beginning at 8am and the 5K at 9am. Corrine and Patrice are participating the 5K portion of the event. Wish our ladies luck as they take on the tough course plust the obstacles.  Check out this video from last year’s race to see what they have in store for today!

Please give all of our competing Intrepids your thoughts, prayers, well-wishes, and positive vibes, and let them know that although many of us may not be there in person to support, that we’re with them in spirit this weekend.  To my Intrepid athletes, I expect you all to push your mental and physical limits this weekend.  Competitions are excellent opportunities for just that.  However, above all else make the best of your experience, enjoy yourselves as much as you can, and have some fun for crying out loud!
