This pyramid is the CrossFit rebuttal to the USDA pyramid that was prescribed to us as the key to nutrition. We, as CrossFitters, focus on the end goal of wellness, which takes us a step beyond fitness. Wellness is the product of proper paleo nutrition and fitness programming. As you can see from this photo, the foundation of this pyramid is nutrition.

Step One:  Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar.

Step Two:  Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.

Step Three:  Master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds.

Step Four: Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, and presses. Build explosivity and learn complex lifts: Clean & Jerk, Snatch.

Step Five:  Regularly learn and play new sports.
